Abigail Waddle is an artist based in South Texas, where the coastal wetlands, shorelines, and wildlife are constant sources of inspiration. She works primarily with oil paints and charcoal, and is heavily influenced by the Symbolist movement of the late 19th century. Her work centers on nature, the unconscious, and folklore. She started her artistic journey in the performing arts, but found her artistic home in studio art, whether painting, drawing, or sculpture. She received a BFA in studio art from Angelo State University, and returned to the coast of Texas. In Corpus Christi, she now pursues one of her other passions - informal education - by working as an educator in a science and history museum while working as an independent studio artist in her free time.

"As a child, I was captivated by the illustrations in old fairy tale books. A single image could hold so much mystery and emotion. That early fascination grew into an obsession with myth, folklore, and the quiet, unstoppable rhythms of nature. Animals, natural cycles, and symbolic imagery often take center stage in my work, acting as carriers of meaning, emotion, and ancestral memory.

Whether I’m working in paint or charcoal, I’m drawn to the in-between spaces where instinct meets archetype, where something wild slips through the cracks of the everyday. Each piece is an attempt to touch that timeless place where legends and nature speak the same language, and then tell a good story."
